Intuition

The rational mind is extraordinary — indispensable, in fact. But it operates on data it already has. Intuition has access to a wider field: the body's thousands of micro-signals, the pattern-recognition happening below conscious awareness, and — if you open to it — the promptings of something beyond individual consciousness entirely. The great decisions of human life, the ones that really matter, are rarely made by reason alone. They are made at the intersection of reason and intuition, where logic and felt sense align.

The challenge is learning to distinguish genuine intuition from fear or wishful thinking — both of which can masquerade as it. Genuine intuition tends to be calm, present, and content-neutral: it simply knows, without emotional charge. Fear feels urgent and contracted. Wishful thinking feels warmly expansive in a way that does not quite survive contact with reality.

The practical step: when facing a current decision, after doing all your research, get quiet for five minutes and ask: what do I actually know about this? Listen to the first response that comes before analysis.
