Lila — Divine Board Game

Illusion

Illusion

The veil of Maya descends. Appearances mislead — seek the truth hidden beneath the surface before acting.

The Veil Between Worlds

Maya — the great weaver of illusion — holds her most intricate work in Cell Two. On the Lila board, this square represents the first test after birth: the newly arrived soul meets a world that presents itself as solid, permanent, and absolutely real, when in truth it is a dance of energy shaped by perception. The teachers of Vedanta and Taoism alike pointed to this: the map is not the territory, the story is not the event, the name of a thing is not the thing itself.

Landing here asks you to look closely at what you are treating as unmovable fact. Which of your present beliefs arrived as conclusions you drew, and which did you simply inherit without examination? Illusion does not always look theatrical — it most often wears the face of obvious common sense.

The challenge here is not to become cynically suspicious of everything, but to hold your perceptions more lightly — as working hypotheses rather than final verdicts. This creates enormous freedom. If what you see is a construction, you also have the power to reconstruct.

Practically: choose one conviction you have about your current situation and subject it to a single genuine question: what evidence would change my mind about this? If no evidence could change it, you may be in Maya.

I see clearly, and I hold what I see with open hands.
