What does dreaming of Wedding mean?
A wedding in dreams rarely concerns a literal marriage, even when one is approaching in waking life. Jung read this image as one of the most natural expressions of the inner union — what he sometimes called the coniunctio, the bringing together of opposites within the self. The ceremony stages an attempt at integration that may have nothing to do with another person. How the wedding unfolds usually carries the meaning. A celebratory union may suggest that two parts of the self previously at odds are finding common ground — reason and feeling, ambition and rest, public and private faces. A confused or interrupted wedding in dream language may point to an integration that is not yet ready, or that is being asked for before its time. The image often invites the dreamer to notice which inner pairs are currently negotiating with each other, and whether the negotiation is being honoured rather than rushed.
