What does dreaming of Forest mean?
The forest in dreams is one of the oldest images of the unconscious. To enter a forest is to leave the cultivated map of the everyday self and to encounter a territory that has its own logic. Jung returned often to this image because the forest stages the central dilemma of inner work: what was overlooked in the open is found among the trees. Becoming lost in a dream-forest is rarely simple misfortune. It tends to mark a necessary disorientation β the moment when familiar references no longer serve, and something less mapped begins to guide. Encounters in the forest, with creatures or strangers, often introduce parts of the self that the daylight personality has not been keeping. To dream of a forest often invites less effort to escape and more attention to what the forest itself is offering: shade, presence, an older order of things.
