Most divination tools ask you to be still. Love Solitaire asks you to move - to handle the tiles, to feel when two fragments align, to complete a picture with your own hands. That act of assembling has its own quality, different from drawing a card or casting a rune.
How the Game Works
You are dealt a board of tiles, each cut diagonally. Each tile holds half of a picture. Click a tile and it rotates a quarter turn. Line one half up with its neighbor so the two triangles complete a whole image, and the meaning of that picture appears.
The person you are holding in mind while you play is not decorative to the mechanic - it is the mechanic. Traditional cartomancy and solitaire divination are built on the premise that the result you produce is shaped by what you bring to the process. Your focus on this specific person channels the selection of tiles that come to you and the order in which the pictures complete.
What the Pictures Mean
The images in Love Solitaire are drawn from romantic symbolism that appears across folk oracle traditions: a flame, two figures facing each other, a locked door, an open window, a letter sealed and unsealed, a heart divided and whole, a mirror.
A flame that comes together from two tiles says something about heat and intensity in the connection - desire that is present and active. Two figures facing each other is recognition, the quality of actually seeing someone. A locked door means something is not accessible yet - not necessarily permanently, but right now. An open window is possibility and invitation. A mirror is self-reflection entering the situation - the connection revealing something to you about yourself.
Pictures that complete easily, with the first rotation, tend to read as matters that are already clear or already in motion. Pictures that require several adjustments before the fragments align reflect a situation where the answer is real but not yet settled.
How to Play with Intention
Hold the person clearly in mind before the first tile appears. Do not play mechanically. Each rotation is a small choice, and those choices, made while your mind is occupied with someone specific, are the divination.
When a picture completes and you read its meaning, let the first feeling you have before you analyze the text be part of the reading. That initial reaction is usually honest.
