The Life Path number is the most important number in numerology — it describes your core nature, the lessons you’re here to learn, and the broad path your life is meant to follow. It’s calculated from your full date of birth.
Step 1: Write your birth date as MM/DD/YYYY. Example: March 14, 1987 = 03/14/1987
Step 2: Reduce each component separately.
- Month: 03 = 3
- Day: 14 = 1 + 4 = 5
- Year: 1987 = 1 + 9 + 8 + 7 = 25 = 2 + 5 = 7
Step 3: Add the three reduced numbers. 3 + 5 + 7 = 15 = 1 + 5 = 6
Result: Life Path 6.
Master Numbers — 11, 22, and 33 — are special. They are NOT reduced further because they carry elevated vibrations. When you encounter 11, 22, or 33 at any reduction step, stop and preserve it.
Example with a master number: November 29, 1990 = 11/29/1990
- Month: 11 → STOP (master number)
- Day: 29 = 2 + 9 = 11 → STOP (master number)
- Year: 1990 = 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 = 1 + 9 = 10 = 1
- 11 + 11 + 1 = 23 = 2 + 3 = 5 Result: Life Path 5 (the master numbers influenced the path, but the final reduced number is 5)
