Aeromancy (air)

Aeromancy

The art of reading omens in atmospheric phenomena: wind, clouds, thunder, and the color of the sky.

"The sky writes in wind what the earth whispers in dreams."

Journal Isida, 1909, "Practical Divination"

Aeromancy is one of the oldest forms of divination, rooted in humanity's dependence on weather. Practitioners watched the sky for signs — the shape of clouds, the direction of sudden winds, the color at dawn. One classical method had the seer drape a white sheet over their head, stand over a basin of water in open air, and read the ripples as sky-messages. Lightning patterns, thunder intervals, and the flight of birds within storms all fell under the aeromantic art.
